Abstract Information
ABSTRACT DEADLINE: March 1, 2001
Focus: Large-scale clade
or regional patterns of Ordovician Biodiversity. All IGCP 410 participants are invited.
We anticipate that each clade
team will have an abstract and present at least one talk on that clade.
Additional sessions at the meeting will be open to all IGCP 410
participants who may wish to offer regional presentations on their particular
clade group (for example, the Baltoscandian
trilobites, the Kazakhstan sponges, or Laurentian graptolites, etc.) through Ordovician
time.
All IGCP participants are welcome and encouraged to attend even if
they do not give a presentation as we anticipate that most talks will have multiple
authors. We are planning ample time for discussion among and between clade teams.
We encourage the focus to be broad-scale and in particular, on the entire Ordovician column (or at least a significant part of the column), rather than a small part of Ordovician time).
Publications: There
will be an abstract volume (single page abstracts) to be published in Paleobios.
Abstracts must be less than 350 words and submitted electronically. Please include title (all capitals); authors, addresses of all authors, and text. No references please.
Microsoft Word is the preferable format. Otherwise, please submit as an RTF file. Abstracts should be sent to: Brenda Hunda but can be submitted separately from registration.
Accompanying Persons: We have not arranged any specific accompanying persons program. However, those with families wishing to tour southern California (e.g. Disneyland) should rent a car. Riverside is located within an hour of most southern California attractions including: Disneyland, the beach, the mountains, the Mojave Desert, Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs, downtown LA, Universal Studios, Hollywood etc.
There are also a number of local attractions.
We will have abundant materials here at the meeting on local and southern California attractions.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for additional or specific information.
Invitations: We are happy to provide official invitations to
those who need them. Contact Brenda Hunda for an invitation.
To all Participants:
Additional logistic and Meeting information will be sent out after we receive your registration.
